Iris Anna Regn leads R_e_g_n design studio in tangent to her work with Tim Durfee at Durfee | Regn. Additionally, she has collaborated with artists and designers such as Louise Sandhaus, Joyce Campbell, Fritz Haeg and Brian Roettinger to explore overlaps across the disciplines. R_e_g_n design assesses context and desires with the client, focusing on potential uses and resources to find an unforeseen solution within the core of the design problem. R_e_g_n emphasizes materials and color as classic devices for activating the environment in unexpected and unifying ways. The studio practices selective specificity to generate simple, expressive design systems which integrate multiple scales and responsive combinations of structure, furniture and graphics. Durfee | Regn embraces a range of architecture and design projects for residential, governmental and cultural clients. In addition to commercial projects with Target and General Growth Properties, D|R is developing sign systems for the Metropolitan Transit Authority and the Community Redevelopment Agency in Los Angeles. Durfee | Regn, in collaboration with Louise Sandhaus Design, have produced award-winning exhibition designs with clients which include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Hammer Museum, the Huntington, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and the International Center of Photography. |
